February 2026 is set to witness the arrival of two premium full-size SUVs – the MG Majestor and the Volkswagen Tayron R-Line. Showcased at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Show, the Majestor is essentially an updated and sportier version of the MG Gloster, and is scheduled to launch on 12th February.
The Volkswagen Tayron R-Line will also go on sale in the coming weeks. Pre-bookings for the SUV have already commenced online and at dealerships for a token sum of Rs 51,000. Here’s a look at the key details of these upcoming 7-seater SUVs.
Upcoming 7-Seater SUVs In India
MG Majestor

Official details of the MG Majestor will be revealed at its launch. However, the SUV is expected to come with a 2.0L twin-turbo diesel engine, generating a maximum power of 216bhp and 479Nm of torque. Transmission duties are performed by an 8-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox, sending power to all the wheels.
The new MG 7-seater SUV derives its design inspiration from the Maxus D90, which is sold in select global markets. On the inside, it’s likely to feature a 12.3-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, three-zone automatic climate control, a 12-speaker sound system, a panoramic sunroof, a powered tailgate and heated and powered front seats, and many more goodies.
Volkswagen Tayron R-Line
The Volkswagen Tayron R-Line, which is a three-row version of the Tiguan R-Line (now discontinued in India), will be assembled locally via CKD kits. For power, the SUV uses a 2.0L, four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, paired to a 7-speed DSG transmission. This powertrain setup delivers a maximum power of 204bhp and 320Nm of torque. It’s claimed to accelerate from 0 to 100kmph in 7.3 seconds, and offer a maximum speed of 224kmph.
Volkswagen has equipped the Tayron R-Line with several advanced features including a large 15-inch central touchscreen, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a head-up display, three-zone climate control, ventilated and powered front seats with memory, heating and massage functions, ambient lighting, ambient lighting, and more.
