Aiming to strengthen its presence in the SUV market, Kia India has planned multiple new products including affordable EVs, hybrids and a C-segment SUV. While these products are slated to arrive by 2028, the carmaker is currently gearing up to launch the new-generation Kia Seltos and Kia Syros EV. The all-new Seltos will go on sale in early weeks of December 2025, although its launch date is yet to be announced. The electric Syros will hit showrooms in the first quarter of 2026.
2026 Kia Seltos
The second-generation Seltos has been on test for a while now. Spy images reveal that the SUV will feature Kia’s latest ‘Opposite United’ design language as seen on the Syros and EV9. The 2026 Kia Seltos is likely to get a newly-designed grille, redesigned headlamps, new foglamp clusters and new LED lighting strip connecting the taillamps.
Inside, the new Kia Seltos 2026 is expected to witness significant upgrades such as new upholstery and more features. Under the hood, the SUV will continue with the existing engine options – a 115bhp, 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol, a 160bhp, 1.5L turbo petrol and a 116bhp, 1.5L diesel engine. A hybrid variant will join the lineup in 2027.
Kia Syros EV
Following the Carens Clavis EV, the Kia Syros EV will be the brand’s second affordable electric offering in India. The compact electric SUV will retain its signature boxy stance, though it will feature several EV-specific elements. As revealed in spy shots, the charging port will be positioned on the front right fender.
Interior details are not available at this moment. However, the EV is likely to have cabin layout and features are expected to be largely similar to its ICE counterpart. The Kia Syros EV might share its platform with the Hyundai Inster EV and come with a FWD (front-wheel drive) system. It could borrow the 42kWh and 49kWh battery packs from the Hyundai EV.
