The Indian automotive industry has witnessed several green mobility product launches this year, and the momentum will continue until the end of the year with the arrival of the Honda 0 Alpha EV and the JSW Combat plug-in hybrid SUVs.
Honda will unveil the production-ready 0 Alpha electric SUV on December 2, while JSW’s Combat will make its India debut on December 4, 2026. Here’s a brief preview of these upcoming SUVs.
Honda 0 Alpha EV
The official powertrain details of the new Honda electric SUV are still under wraps. However, Honda has confirmed two battery pack options. The LFP battery capacities could range from 65kWh to 75kWh. It could get a single-motor, front-wheel-drive (FWD) configuration.
Spy images suggest that the Honda 0 Alpha will retain several design elements from the concept. The EV will feature an illuminated Honda logo at the front end along with a charging port. Other highlights will include a large windscreen at the rear and a pronounced rear bumper. The EV could sit on a wheelbase, measuring around 2,700mm – 2,800mm.
JSW Combat
Based on the Jetour T2, the JSW Combat will be assembled at the carmaker’s Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar facility. In India, the SUV could be offered with a 1.5-litre direct-injection turbo-petrol engine, two electric motors powering the front wheels and an 18.4kWh battery. This setup will deliver a combined power of 360bhp and 610Nm of torque.
Transmission duties will be handled by a 3-speed dedicated hybrid transmission (DHT). The SUV offers a claimed all-electric range of 90km on the NEDC cycle, while its combined range with a full fuel tank is rated at up to 1,100km.
The new JSW SUV is expected to be packed with several advanced features such as a massive 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, a 12-speaker Sony sound system, 6-way powered driver’s seat, 4-way powered co-driver’s seat, ventilated and memory functions for the front seats, a 540-degree camera, Level 2 ADAS and more.
