Mahindra & Mahindra has planned multiple new products launches across segments, including ICE, EV and hybrid. The carmaker also aims to expand its sub-4 metre SUV portfolio with two new models – the next-generation Mahindra XUV 3XO and the mini Mahindra Scorpio. While the official launch timelines of these SUVs are yet to be revealed, the production-ready baby Scorpio is expected to debut in late 2026, followed by market launch in 2027. The all-new XUV 3XO might arrive in 2028.
New-Gen Mahindra XUV 3XO

Showcased on this year’s Independence Day, the Mahindra Vision X concept is expected to preview a new subcompact SUV based on the new modular NU_IQ platform that supports ICE, hybrid and electric powertrains. The new Mahindra XUV 3XO is likely to be based on the Vision X concept, sharing futuristic design language and elements. The compact SUV might feature an upright stance and high ground clearance, a closed-off grille, a coupe-like rear windscreen and a sculpted bonnet.
The Mahindra Vision X concept also sported aero-designed dual-tone alloy wheels with low profile tyres, black cladding on the wheel arches, sharp creases in the doors and flush fitting door handles. The interior of the new Mahindra XUV 3XO is also expected to witness comprehensive changes in terms of layout and features.
Since Mahindra’s NU_IQ platform is compatible with multiple powertrains, the new XUV 3XO is expected to come with ICE, electric and hybrid powertrain options. Just so you know, Mahindra has already started developing a strong hybrid system that’s likely to debut with the 1.2L petrol engine on the XUV 3XO in 2026.
Mini Mahindra Scorpio
The Mahindra Vision S concept is expected to showcase a lifestyle SUV in the Scorpio lineup. The concept features the signature Twin Peaks logo, inverted L-shaped headlamps, pixel-shaped fog lamps, roof mounted lights (which might not make it to the production model), thick cladding, 19-inch tyres with the star-shaped wheels, flush fitting door handles and inverted L taillamps.
Recent spy images reveal that the mini Mahindra Scorpio will offer a dual screen setup, a three-spoke steering wheel, vertically stacked AC vents, centre console with physical buttons, grab handles in the front and second-row and a panoramic sunroof.
It would be too early to comment on the engine options. However, the mini Mahindra Scorpio is expected to be offered with ICE, hybrid and electric powertrain choices.
