The 2026 Tata Punch EV scores a 5-star Bharat NCAP safety rating with 31.09/32 for adult and 45/49 for child safety. Check full details.
In the lasted Bharat NCAP crash test rating, the 2026 Tata Punch EV has achieved a 5-star safety rating for both adult and child occupant protection. It scored 31.09 points out of 32 for adult occupant protection and 45 points out of 49 for child occupant protection.

The tested variants were the Punch EV Adventure 40 and Empowered+ S 40. However, the 5-star safety rating is applicable to all variants of the compact electric SUV. Launched earlier this year, the Tata Punch EV facelift is currently available within the price range of Rs 9.69 lakh – Rs 12.59 lakh (ex-showroom).
Tata Punch EV – Adult Occupant Protection
In the frontal offset deformable barrier test, the electric SUV received 15.28 points out of a maximum 16. It also scored 15.80 out of 16 points in the side movable deformable barrier test,while its performance in the side pole impact test was rated as ‘OK’. The Punch EV offered ‘Good’ protection to occupants and ‘Adequate’ protection for some body reasons during the frontal and side impact tests.
Tata Punch EV – Child Occupant Protection
The Punch EV achieved a full 24 points out of 24 in the dynamic score and 12 out of 12 points for CRS installation. Its vehicle assessment score stood at 9 out of 13.
Bharat NCAP used the Joie-i-Spin Safe child restrain system for both 18-month-old child and the 3-year-old child. Both child dummies scored a full 8 points out of 8 in the front impact test and 4 out of a maximum 4 in the side impact test. The child seats were installed in a rearward facing position using the i-Size Isofix/Leg setup.
Safety Features
All variants of the Tata Punch EV come equipped with driver and passenger, side curtain airbags, side chest airbags, electronic stability control, seat belt reminder for all seating positions, pedestrian protection and Isofix anchorages.
