Hyundai recently announced an aggressive product strategy for the Indian market. The South Korean automaker has planned 26 new model launches by 2030, featuring multiple powertrain options including ICE (internal combustion engine), hybrid and electric. By 2027, Hyundai aims to strengthen its game in the midsize and premium three-row SUV segments with new models, while also marking its entry in the hybrid segment. Here’s a brief on these three upcoming Hyundai SUVs.
Upcoming Hyundai SUVs in India By 2027
New Hyundai Midsize SUV
The upcoming Hyundai midsize SUV is expected to be based on the Bayon, which is already on sale in European markets. Within Hyundai’s lineup, the model (codenamed Bc4i) will be positioned above the Venue and below the Creta, and go head-to-head against the Maruti Victoris. Measuring around 4.18 metres in length, the Hyundai Bayon could be offered with naturally aspirated petrol and CNG powertrain options.
New Hyundai Creta Hybrid

The third-generation Hyundai Creta is set to debut in early 2027. The all-new model will receive comprehensive upgrades inside and out along with a new strong hybrid powertrain. Spy shots suggest that the new-gen Creta will be larger and more spacious than its current model. Based on the new K3 platform, the SUV will feature a sharper design language inspired by Hyundai’s global SUVs. Inside, the 2027 Hyundai Creta will get the brand’s Pleos Connect system along with several new features.
New Hyundai 7-Seater SUV
Codenamed Ni1i, the upcoming Hyundai 7-seater SUV could be based on the Tucson LWB (long-wheelbase), which is currently on sale in China. It will sit above the Alcazar and compete with models such as the Mahindra XUV 7XO, Tata Safari and MG Hector Plus. Hyundai’s Talegaon manufacturing facility will serve as production hub for this new 7-seater SUV. It’s expected to be offered with multiple powertrain options including petrol, diesel and hybrid. The hybrid powertrain could be shared with the new Creta.
