The Mahindra XUV 7XO is a premium 6/7-seater monocoque SUV, rivalling the Tata Safari, Hyundai Alcazar, and MG Hector Plus. Favoured for its powerful engine options, premium features, and strong road presence, the SUV has been dominating the segment since its arrival. With an aim to challenge its dominance, Maruti Suzuki, Toyota Kirloskar Motor and JSW MG Motor India are gearing up to launch new SUVs by the end of this year.
Read on to learn more about these upcoming Mahindra XUV 7XO rival SUVs.

New Maruti Premium SUV
The Indo-Japanese automaker has confirmed a new three-row premium SUV (codenamed Y17) for India. The model is expected to be based on the Maruti Grand Vitara, sharing its platform, powertrains, features and design elements. However, it will be longer and offer more cabin space than the Grand Vitara. Reports suggest that the new Maruti 7-seater SUV might also borrow styling cues from the eVitara. Aiming to enhance its value-for-money proposition, the carmaker might offer additional features.
7-Seater Toyota Hyryder
Toyota’s version of the 7-seater Maruti Grand Vitara is also in the pipeline. One of its test mules was spotted earlier this year, suggesting the presence of the AllGrip (AWD) drivetrain system. It features an extended rear overhang and an additional row of seats. Similar to the 5-seater Hyryder, the new Toyota 7-seater SUV is expected to come with the 1.5L K15C petrol and strong hybrid powertrain.
MG Starlight 560
MG is planning to introduce a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) SUV by Diwali 2026. The model is likely to be the rebadged version of the Wuling Starlight 560, featuring a closed-off grille, unique lighting elements, squared wheel arches, blacked-out pillars and alloy wheels. Globally, the Starlight 560 is available with plug-in hybrid and electric powertrain options. MG might introduce both versions in the Indian market.
