Honda Cars India is planning to expand its hybrid product portfolio with a range of new models in the coming years. Priced at Rs 19.48 lakh (ex-showroom), the Honda City e:HEV found a few takers in the market, and showcases Honda’s capable strong hybrid technology. Aiming to make its hybrid system more accessible and affordable, the Japanese automaker is developing a new, heavily-localized modular PF2 platform.
The new PF2 architecture will debut on the sixth-generation City e:HEV in 2028, and will later underpin multiple SUVs and crossovers in the Rs 15 lakh – Rs 30 lakh price range. As per media reports, three new Honda Hybrid cars are expected to arrive this year, including the Honda City Hybrid facelift, Honda Elevate Hybrid, and Honda ZR-V Hybrid as a CBU unit.
Upcoming Honda Hybrid Cars in India
Honda City Hybrid Facelift

Slated to arrive in H2, 2026, the new Honda City 2026 facelift will continue to feature the existing 126bhp, 1.5L petrol-hybrid powertrain and a CVT gearbox. Only minimal design changes are expected. The sedan might receive a slightly revised front grille, bumpers, new alloys and redesigned headlamps. Inside, it might get new upholstery and trims along with a few additional features.
Honda Elevate Hybrid

Rumour has it that Honda Elevate might also receive a strong hybrid powertrain in the second half of 2026. It might feature the City e:HEV-sourced 1.5L Atkinson cycle engine, paired with two electric motors. Save for the ‘Hybrid’ badging, its overall design, styling and interior layout are expected to remain largely similar to the ICE counterpart.
Honda ZR-V Hybrid

The Honda ZR-V will be imported into India as a CBU unit and could be priced between Rs 50 lakh – Rs 60 lakh. In global markets, it’s offered with a 2.0L, four-cylinder petrol-hybrid powertrain, paired with an e-CVT gearbox. This setup delivers a maximum power of 180bhp and 240Nm of torque. While its launch timeline is yet to be officially announced, the model is likely to arrive towards the end of 2026 or early 2027.
