Kia recently confirmed 10 new models for the Indian market over the next 4-5 years, including eight electrified vehicles. The upcoming electrified range will consist of Syros EV, Sorento Hybrid, Seltos Hybrid, Sonet Hybrid and Carnival Hybrid.
While the Kia Syros EV is scheduled to debut in July 2026, the Sorento three-premium SUV and Seltos hybrid are expected to arrive in 2027. The next-generation Kia Sonet will go on sale in 2027; however, its hybrid version might come in 2028 or 2029.
Here’s a closer look at the key details of these upcoming Kia hybrid SUVs & MPV.

Kia Sorento Hybrid
The new Kia Sorento will sit above the Seltos in Kia’s India product portfolio, and take on the Mahindra XUV 7XO and Tata Safari. It’s estimated to be priced around Rs 35 lakh (ex-showroom). According to reports, Kia might could pair its proven 1.5L petrol engine with a hybrid system for both the Sorento and Seltos SUVs.
Kia Seltos Hybrid
As mentioned above, the new Kia Seltos hybrid is expected to share its powertrain with the Sorento hybrid. Save for the ‘Hybrid’ badges and a few software upgrades, the SUV’s hybrid version is likley to look nearly identical to the new-gen Seltos, which was introduced in January 2026.
Kia Sonet Hybrid
The new-generation Kia Sonet will arrive in 2027 with comprehensive design upgrades and feature enhancements. Initially; however, the engine setup is likely to remain changed. The hybrid powertrain will be introduced in 2028 and 2029. As of now, Kia has not revealed any official details about its powertrain and its details.
Kia Carnival Hybrid
Globally, the Kia Carnival is available with a 1.6L turbo petrol hybrid powertrain, generating 242PS and 367Nm. Transmission on offer is an automatic unit. In India, the MPV is currently available with 2.2L diesel engine, which could be electrified by 2030.
