As we move closer to the 2026 festive season, automakers are getting ready to introduce their new model lineup across different segments. September 2026 is also set to be an action-packed month for the automotive industry, with multiple launches planned by Maruti Suzuki, Mahindra, Renault and Skoda. Here’re key details of the upcoming models.
2026 Maruti Baleno Facelift
Maruti Suzuki has confirmed that the Baleno facelift will go on sale in India on September 5, 2026. The hatchback will receive noticeable changes inside and out while retaining the existing 90bhp, 1.2-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine and CNG powertrain. The interior will be updated with a larger 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a wireless phone charger along with new trims, upholstery and cabin theme. Subtle design changes will further enhance its overall look.
2026 Mahindra Thar Facelift
The new Mahindra Thar (3-door) facelift will derive several design elements from the Thar Roxx including the double-stacked 6-slat grille and newly-designed five-spoke alloy wheels. The updated 3-door will also borrow features from the Thar Roxx. Under the hood, however, it will retain the existing 119bhp, 1.5-litre diesel, 132bhp, 2.2-litre and 152bhp, 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine options.
2026 Renault Triber Turbo
Renault India will finally introduce the 1.0-litre, three-cylinder turbo petrol engine on the Triber lineup. Sourced from the Kiger, this engine delivers a maximum power of 100PS and 160Nm of torque. The MPV will continue to come with a 5-speed manual and a CVT automatic gearbox. Interestingly, the new Renault Triber turbo will also be available with a factory-fitted CNG kit.
2026 Skoda Slavia Facelift
Skoda Auto India will soon launch the facelifted Slavia sedan in India. The MY2026 will be offered with a 1.0-litre TSI petrol and a new 8-speed automatic gearbox configuration, while the other engine-gearbox combinations will be retained. The sedan will also feature a larger 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, an updated 10.1-inch infotainment system with an AI assist and rear seat massage function. Several noticeable cosmetic changes have also been made to the facelifted model.
