4 New Hyundai Creta Rivals Launching by Diwali 2026 – Maruti to Honda

The Hyundai Creta has long been popular among buyers, thanks to its modern styling, premium and feature-rich interior, multiple powertrain options and value proposition. Despite intense competition and the arrival of multiple new models in the midsize SUV segment over the years, the Creta has managed to maintain its dominance. Interestingly, carmakers such as Maruti Suzuki, Honda, Renault and Nissan are set to launch new Hyundai Creta rival SUVs by the 2026 Diwali season.

Nissan Tekton

Nissan India will unveil the new Tekton midsize SUV on July 9, followed by its market launch in the coming months. It’s Nissan derivative of the Renault Duster, sharing its platform, powertrain, components and features. However, the Tekton looks completely different from the Duster and draws its design inspiration from Nissan’s global flagship SUV, the Patrol.

Based on the RGMP platform, the upcoming Nissan Tekton is likely to be offered with the same 1.0L turbo and 1.3L turbo petrol engines as the Duster. However, it will miss out on the strong hybrid powertrain.

Maruti Grand Vitara Facelift

The new 2026 Maruti Grand Vitara facelift is expected to receive minor design changes and feature upgrades, while retaining the 1.5L mild and strong hybrid powertrain options. The SUV lineup is currently available with a 103bhp, 1.5L petrol mild hybrid and a 115bhp, 1.5L strong hybrid powertrains. While the former gets a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox, the latter is exclusively offered with an e-CVT gearbox.

Honda Elevate Facelift

The Honda Elevate facelift is set to receive its first major midlife update around the 2026 Diwali season. The midsize SUV is likely to see slightly revised front and rear profiles along with several new features inside the cabin. The existing 121bhp, 1.5L, four-cylinder petrol with a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed CVT automatic gearbox options will continue to be on offer.

Renault Duster Hybrid

The Renault Duster hybrid, is also based on the RGMP platform, will arrive around 2026 Diwali season. Renault India has confirmed that the SUV will feature a 1.8L strong hybrid powertrain, delivering power close to 160bhp. Compared to the strong hybrid variants of the Maruti Grand Vitara and Toyota Hyryder, the Duster hybrid will be significantly more powerful.
