In June 2025, Hyundai Motor India announced its plan to launch 26 new models across ICE (internal combustion engine), hybrid and EV (electric vehicle) segments by 2030. The upcoming lineup will include 7-8 all-new models across both new and existing segments. The product strategy highlights Hyundai’s entry into the MPV and off-road SUV segments in the coming years. The carmaker also has a strong focus on SUV segment and plans to launch four new SUVs by 2027.
With an aim to further strengthen its presence in the midsize SUV space, Hyundai Motor India will introduce a Bayon-based SUV and the next-generation Creta. The South Korean automaker is also working on a premium three-row SUV (codenamed Ni1i) featuring a strong hybrid powertrain along with a sub-4 metre electric SUV codenamed Hyundai HE1i.
Upcoming Hyundai SUVs By 2027
Hyundai’s new micro electric SUV will be positioned against the Tata Punch EV. It’s expected to arrive during 2026 Diwali season or early next year. Spy shots reveal that the EV will feature an upright stance and boxy proportions. It’s expected to borrow the 42kWh and 49kWh battery packs from the Hyundai Inster EV.
The Hyundai Bayon-based SUV will sit above the Venue and below the Creta in the company’s portfolio, and take directly on the Maruti Victoris. According to reports, the model will debut with Hyundai’s all-new 1.2L turbo petrol engine, which will be more compact and frugal than the Creta’s 1.5L turbo petrol engine.
The next-gen Hyundai Creta will be longer, wider and more spacious than the current model. The SUV will receive radical design changes, a more premium interior and new tech along with a strong hybrid powertrain. It will also mark debut of Hyundai’s Pleos Connect system in India.
The Hyundai Ni1i 7-seater SUV is expected to be based on the long-wheelbase Hyundai Tucson sold in China. It will also be among the brand’s first model to be produced at the carmaker’s Talegaon production facility. The new Hyundai 7-seater SUV is likely to share its strong hybrid powertrain with the upcoming new Creta.
