520km Range + Lifetime Battery Warranty


Kia India is all set to unveil the Syros EV in the last week of July, followed by its market launch in August, 2026. When launched, it will be positioned against the segment’s top-selling Tata Nexon EV along with the Mahindra XUV 3XO EV. Interestingly, the Kia Syros EV will be the brand’s smallest and the most affordable electric offering in India. Since it will be an ICE to EV conversion, the subcompact electric SUV will receive only EV-specific changes inside and out.

While official details of the Kia Syros EV will be revealed in the coming weeks, here’s everything we know so far.

Sharing Powertrain With Carens Clavis EV

Based on the K1 platform, the Syros EV is expected to share its 42kWh and 51.4kWh battery packs with the Kia Carens Clavis EV. According to media reports, the compact electric SUV will offer a claimed range of up to 443km with the smaller battery pack and up to 520km with the 51.4kWh battery pack. If these figures remain true, the Syros EV will become one of the longest-range EVs in its category.  

Despite sharing the same battery packs, the Syros EV will promise a longer driving range than the Carens Clavis EV, thanks to its smaller footprints and lighter body built. For reference, the Carens Clavis EV delivers a claimed ARAI-certified driving range of 404km with the 42kWh battery and 490km with the 51.4kWh battery.

Class-Leading Battery Warranty

To enhance ownership experience, Kia India is likely to offer a class-leading 15-year or lifetime battery warranty with the Syros EV. The electric SUV will also be available a standard 3-year standard warranty, extendable up to 7 years or 1.6 lakh kilometres. Furthermore, Kia’s buyback assurance program will improve the vehicle’s resale value and overall ownership experience.

Key Design & Interior Changes

Spy shots reveal that the Kia Syros EV will feature a closed-off grille, newly-designed aero-optimzied alloy wheels and a charging flap on the left front fender. Inside, it could get a few EV-specific software updates along with vehicle-to-load (V2L) and vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) capabilities.
