6 Upcoming Hyundai SUVs – New Creta, Palisade, EV & More

Hyundai has an ambitious plan for the Indian market, including 26 new model launches by 2030, while adopting a multi-powertrain strategy. The upcoming range will include 7-8 all-new models along with several facelifts and special editions.

The South Korean also aims to strengthen its presence in the SUV segment with at least five new products including a new midsize SUV (based on the Bayon), the next-generation Creta, a locally developed compact electric SUV, a new three-row SUV, the flagship Palisade and an all-new off-road.

Hyundai Bayon

The new Hyundai Bayon-based SUV is expected to be offered with 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol and CNG powertrain options. It will become Hyundai’s first 4-metre SUV to feature CNG powertrain. Spy shots suggest that the SUV will feature crossover-esque design, dual-tone alloy wheels and LED lighting. In terms of features, it could get a large touchscreen, digital driver’s display, ADAS and more.

Next-Gen Hyundai Creta

The third-generation Hyundai Creta will receive comprehensive design changes and feature enhancements along with a strong hybrid powertrain. The hybrid version is likely to feature an electrified version of the 1.5L NA petrol engine.

Hyundai Compact EV

Based on the E-GMP platform, the upcoming Hyundai compact EV is expected to share its powertrain with the Inster EV. It might be offered in Standard Range and Long Range variants. When launched, it will be positioned against the Tata Punch EV.

Hyundai Ni1i

Hyundai is also developing a new three-row premium SUV for the Indian market. Codenamed Ni1i, the 7-seater SUV is expected to share its powertrain options with the Creta, including a hybrid option. According to reports, it could be based on the China-spec Hyundai Tucson LWB (Long Wheelbase) version.

Hyundai Palisade

The South Korean automaker is also planning to introduce its flagship Palisade SUV sometime in 2028. It might feature Hyundai’s next-gen hybrid powertrain, featuring a 2.5L, 4-cylinder turbo petrol paired with two electric motors and a 6-speed automatic transmission.
