Maruti & Toyota’s 7-Seater SUVs
Maruti Suzuki and Toyota Kirloskar Motor are testing the 7-seater versions of the Grand Vitara and Urban Cruiser Hyryder SUVs, which are expected to debut in late 2026. Tata Motors has confirmed that the Safari EV will go on sale in India during the 2026 Diwali season. It’s likely to be offered with the 63kWh and 75kWh battery pack options borrowed from the newly-launched Tata Sierra EV. The SUV is expected to deliver a driving range of over 500km. Mahindra Scorpio N Facelift
The 2026 Mahindra Scorpio N facelift is expected to arrive around the Diwali festive season. Spy images reveal that the SUV will receive minimal design changes including a slightly tweaked grille, redesigned bumpers, new five-spoke alloy wheels and new LED signatures for the taillamps. Kia Sorento
The Kia Sorento is expected to launch in India by September or October, 2026. It will be Kia’s first hybrid SUV in India and will challenge the Skoda Kodiaq, Volkswagen Tayron R-Line, Jeep Meridian, Toyota Fortuner and MG Majestor. Based on the China-spec Wuling Starlight 560, the upcoming MG plug-in hybrid SUV is expected to feature a 1.5L petrol engine paired with electric motors and a 20.5kWh battery pack. In pure electric mode, it offers a range of up to 125km, while the combine driving range with the petrol engine is claimed to exceed 1,000km.
