The Kia Sorento is currently on sale in India at a starting price of Rs 27.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Kia’s flagship SUV is available with turbo-petrol strong hybrid and diesel engine options, with AWD offered on the top-end variants. Kia claims that the Sorento petrol-hybrid offers a fuel efficiency of 19.60kmpl with 2WD system and 17.70kmpl with 4WD configuration. The diesel 2WD and 4WD variants deliver a claimed mileage of 17.66kmpl and 15.79kmpl, respectively.

Strong Hybrid & Diesel Powertrains
The SUV lineup comes in six trim levels – HTE, HTE (O), HTK, HTK (A), HTX and HTX (A) – priced between Rs 27.99 lakh – Rs 40.19 lakh (all, ex-showroom). The strong hybrid version features a 1.6-litre turbo petrol engine paired with an electric motor, producing power worth 65bhp and 264Nm. Its combined power and torque outputs stand at 180bhp and 265Nm, respectively. Transmission duties are performed by a 6-speed torque convertor automatic transmission. Both FWD and AWD are on offer, depending on the trim.
The diesel version comes with a 2.2-litre engine mated to an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The oil burner pushes out a maximum power of 193bhp and 442Nm of torque. Similar to the strong hybrid version, the diesel model is available with both FWD and AWD configurations. The SUV offers four drive modes – Normal, Eco, Sport and Smart. The AWD variants are offered exclusively with three terrain modes – Snow, Sand and Mud.
