Xiaomi Pad 8S Pro is on the way with Xiaomi’s next self-developed chipset at the helm

The Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro made its debut in September of last year, and now the company is apparently working on a new model called the Xiaomi Pad 8S Pro.

The leaked image below shows part of the upcoming device’s About screen, which reveals all of its main specs. The tablet is powered by Xiaomi’s own Xring O3 SoC, paired with 16GB of RAM. It has a 50MP camera on the rear (and a 2MP secondary camera), and a 32MP selfie camera.

The Pad 8S Pro 12.5 has a 12,000 mAh battery, and it will launch running HyperOS 4, which is probably based on Android 17. As this screen is in Chinese, and taking history into account, we assume the new tablet will be launched in China first. Whether it will eventually be made available in other markets remains to be seen, especially since none of the devices powered by the Xring O1 SoC (the Xring O3’s predecessor from last year) made it to other markets.

The Pad 8S Pro may launch in the next few weeks alongside the Xiaomi Mix Fold 5 (also tentatively referred to as the Xiaomi 18 Fold), which is also expected to be powered by the Xring O3 chipset.
