Huawei launches the feather-light 12-inch MatePad Pro 2026


Alongside the nova 16 SE smartphone, today Huawei also announced the MatePad Pro 2026 tablet. It has a 12-inch OLED screen with 3036×1952 resolution and 1,600-nit peak brightness. It’s powered by the Kirin T93 or Kirin T93A chipset, depending on the model – the former is built into the standard version, while the latter is reserved for the Enjoy Edition, which is cheaper.

The tablet runs HarmonyOS 6.1, and you can have it with 12GB of RAM and 256GB or 512GB of storage. On the rear there’s a 50MP f/1.8 main camera, while on the front there’s a 12MP f/2.4 selfie shooter.

Keeping the lights on is a 10,400 mAh battery with support for 66W wired charging and 40W reverse wired charging. You get four speakers and four mics, as well as a fingerprint scanner. The tablet measures 264.2 x 172.9 x 4.7 mm and weighs just 439g.

The Enjoy Edition (with the Kirin T93A) starts at CNY 5,699 ($843) with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The version with Huawei’s PaperMatte Display is CNY 6,499 ($962). Or you can get the Enjoy Edition with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, as well as a keyboard, for CNY 7,699 ($1,139).

The standard version is CNY 5,999 ($888) with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, and CNY 7,199 ($1,065) with the PaperMatte Display. The tablet will eventually be offered in Floating White, Condensed Blue, Cherry Blossom Pink, Space Gray, and Bright Moon Silver, but not all colors seem to be up for pre-order just yet. It’s expected to ship before August 21 in China.

A global release isn’t very likely, but the recently launched MatePad Pro Max is incredibly similar, spec-wise, to this model, and is already available in some global markets.
