The iPhone 18 Pro Max’s actual battery leaks, here’s how big it is

The iPhone 18 Pro Max is launching next month alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone Ultra. Back in early July, we first heard that the iPhone 18 Pro Max’s battery capacity would be 5,425 mAh for the eSIM model, and 5,235 mAh for the one with a physical SIM card. Then, mere days later, we heard that the former would be 5,567 mAh, and the latter 5,391 mAh.

Today three images purportedly showing the iPhone 18 Pro Max’s actual battery have been leaked in China, and one of them clearly shows a capacity of 5,391 mAh. That matches the earlier rumor, and it fits because China should be getting the model with a physical SIM card. Thus, it’s probably safe to assume that the eSIM-only variant will indeed have a 5,567 mAh battery.

Interestingly, the same source claims the iPhone 18 Pro will have a 4,288 mAh battery in its eSIM-only version, and a 4,056 mAh battery in the one with a physical SIM card. So the actual battery capacity increase compared to the iPhone 17 Pro will be only 1% to 2%, while for the iPhone 18 Pro Max compared to the iPhone 17 Pro Max it will be 9% to 12%.
