Maruti Suzuki recently introduced the Brezza facelift at a starting price of Rs 7.40 lakh, with minimal upgrades and a turbo-petrol engine. Now, the Indo-Japanese automaker is gearing up to launch the 2026 Maruti Baleno facelift on September 5. Ahead of its official arrival, the updated model has been spotted in multiple spy images and videos, revealing several interesting details.
Design Highlights
Spy shots suggest that the new Maruti Baleno 2026 facelift will feature a slightly revised front fascia, featuring a redesigned grille connected bu a thin chrome strip running between the headlamps along with a tweaked bumper. The side profile will remain largely unchanged, expect for the newly-designed 16-inch alloy wheels. At the back, the updated Baleno is likely to feature a revised bumper and LED taillamp graphics. Dimensionally, the hatchback will remain unchanged.
Interior & Features
The 2026 Maruti Baleno facelift is expected to receive new cabin theme along with the revised seat upholstery and trims. To enhance its value proposition, Maruti Suzuki might equip the hatchback with features such as larger infotainment system, a fully digital instrument cluster, height adjustable driver’s seat, automatic climate control, additional connected car features and more.
Turbo Power
Similar to the Brezza facelift, the new Maruti Baleno facelift is likely to receive a 1.0L Boosterjet turbocharged petrol engine, sourced from the Fronx. The existing 1.2L, four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol will also continue to be on offer. This Dual VVT petrol engine pushes out a maximum power of 90PS and 113Nm of torque. Both manual and AMT gearboxes will also be retained.
Expected Prices & Competition
Considering the expected changes, the new 2026 Maruti Baleno is likely to witness a marginal price hike. The hatchback model lineup is currently available within the price range of Rs 5.99 lakh – Rs 9.17 lakh (ex-showroom). In the premium hatchback segment, it will continue to rival the Hyundai i20, Tata Altroz and Toyota Glanza.
