Xiaomi’s privacy display user interface leaks, here are the options

With the Galaxy S26 Ultra, Samsung this year unveiled the first ever built-in hardware-controlled privacy display on a smartphone. Now Xiaomi is apparently following suit with its next flagship devices and the interface for the Smart privacy display as Xiaomi calls it has now been leaked.

What you see below was allegedly recorded from a global ROM.

The screenshots show the fact that you can personalize groups and add different apps to each group, so you can have different privacy display settings for them. Interestingly, you can set things so that the phone will automatically switch to the privacy display for sensitive pages like password entry, payments, transfers, and messaging.

So it looks like the privacy display feature won’t be contained to Samsung’s top of the line device for long, as it seems like Xiaomi is preparing to launch its own version on an upcoming device, presumably the Xiaomi 18 Pro and Pro Max.

This was rumored back in June, so now we have confirmation of the UI that Xiaomi will use. The Xiaomi 18 Pro and Pro Max are expected to be unveiled in September, powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro SoC. They will both retain their rear screens, in fact they might actually grow bigger.
