The vivo X300 Ultra had an imposing camera – both in terms of quality and physical size – but the company may have something even bigger planned. An alleged photo and hands-on video of the vivo X500 Pro Max shows an absolute beast of a camera island with a rotating camera ring.
Let’s look at the photo first – we’re not 100% sure, but we think that the phone on the left is the vivo X300 Ultra. And the phone on the right is allegedly the vivo X500 Pro Max. Look at that thing, it’s as wide as the phone itself!

Next up is a video on TikTok that offers a closer look. Is it just a funny angle or does the camera ring actually stick out from the top? Also, there are numbers inscribed on the side of the ring, which may be ISO settings. The ring will certainly be used to control manual settings in the camera.

The Pro Max model will feature a triple camera with two 50MP sensors and a 200MP module. The main camera uses a 50MP 1/1.28-inch LOFIC sensor from Sony (this hasn’t been 100% confirmed), while the telephoto module will use a 200MP 1/1.4 Samsung HP0 sensor (previously used on the X300 Ultra tele camera). The ultra-wide should feature another Sony sensor, a 50MP IMX8-series model.

The Pro Max will have a 6.85” LTPO display with 144Hz refresh rate (the world’s first BOE Q11 panel) and will be powered by one of the upcoming Dimensity 9600 chips.
The X500 series will officially launch in September. It consists of the vivo X500, X500 Pro and X500 Pro Max. Don’t worry, there will be an Ultra too, but it’s likely to arrive later on. We don’t know for certain which models will be available globally – we think that the Pro Max will be, but the Ultra may skip the global market this year.
