After unveiling the X500 series in China, vivo will likely turn its focus to the X500 Ultra. While the company has remained tight-lipped about the phone, a vivo executive reportedly shared the launch timeline for the X300 Ultra successor during a media interview post the X500 series launch event.
Huang Tao, Vice President of Product at vivo, reportedly confirmed that the vivo X500 Ultra will debut in China sometime in March or April 2027. Notably, its predecessor was unveiled in China on March 30.

The vivo executive also noted that the Ultra variant will offer a larger gap in camera performance when compared to the X500 Pro Max.
Meanwhile, well-known tipster Digital Chat Station has claimed that the core hardware specifications of the vivo X500 Ultra flagship have already been finalized. The handset is said to feature a larger battery, closer in capacity to the recently announced X500 Pro Max.
A previous rumor suggested that vivo is testing three different 200MP sensors for the X500 Ultra’s telephoto camera. The upcoming Ultra is also said to come with a new 35mm 50MP main sensor that offers improved stabilization.
