New 7-Seater SUV Coming in 2027; Prices To Start at Rs 18 Lakh

The third-generation Renault Duster was launched in India in March, followed by its Nissan’s derivative the ‘Tekton’ in July, 2026. Now, Renault and Nissan are gearing up to introduce three-row versions of their midsize SUV sometime in 2027. Both models are currently undergoing testing and have been caught on camera multiple times.

Nissan India has confirmed that the upcoming 7-seater SUV will be more than just a stretched version of the Tekton. While both SUVs will share the CMF-B platform, powertrains and components, their designing and cabin packaging will be different. The 7-seater Nissan Tekton will come as a more affordable alternative to the Nissan X-Trail, catering to a different set of buyers.

Design Highlights

Spy images suggest that the new Nissan 7-seater SUV will be longer and more spacious than the Tekton. It’s expected to get a redesigned grille and front bumper, while the LED headlamps and inverted L-shaped LED DRLs will remain unchanged. The SUV may also feature boomerang-shaped LED taillamps connected by a thicker LED light bar along with a flatter rear windshield.

Interior & Features

The 7-seater Nissan Tekton will offer a three-row seat configuration, while sharing most of its features with the 5-seater version. The feature kit is likely to include a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless charger with cooling, six-speaker Arkamys surround sound audio system, auto dimming IRVM, dual zone automatic climate control, front Type-C charging points, electronic parking brake with auto hold, leather-wrapped steering wheel, autonomous emergency braking and more.

Expected Engine

The upcoming Nissan 7-seater SUV is expected to be powered by the 1.3-litre, four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine. Transmission duties are likely to be performed by a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed wet dual-clutch automatic gearbox. The SUV could be offered with a FWD (front-wheel drive) system.

Expected Price & Competition

Once launched, the 7-seater Nissan Tekton will be positioned against the Mahindra XUV 7XO, Hyundai Alcazar and Tata Safari. Its prices are expected to start around Rs 18 lakh for the base variant, and go up to Rs 22 lakh for the top-end trim.
