Mahindra & Mahindra is gearing up to unveil the production-ready Vision S subcompact SUV in the coming months. Since the model has been undergoing extensive testing for sometime, multiple spy images and video have revealed key design and interior details. The production version of the Mahindra Vision S will stay close to the concept and could borrow several design elements from the XUV 7XO, Thar Roxx and Thar.

Design Highlights
Spy images suggest that the Vision S will feature Mahindra’s signature six-slat grille, a pronounced lower air dam with a concealed centre trim, sleek L-shaped LED headlamps and a raised clamshell bonnet. Keen-eyed observers can also notice an integrated radar module, confirming presence of ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) suite.

Other design highlights are expected to include prominent wheel arches, alloy wheels, flush door handles, large ORVMs, short overhangs, a flat roofline, sporty side cladding, a rising beltline towards the rear, vertically positioned LED taillamps, a short roof spoiler, tailgate integrated spare wheel and a chunky rear bumper. Similar to the concept, the production-ready Vision S features a boxy and upright stance.
Expected Features
Inside the cabin, the Mahindra Vision S will feature a dashboard integrated binnacle-mounted digital driver’s display, and a Thar-Roxx-inspired touchscreen infotainment system. The SUV will also get a two-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel, protruding AC vents similar to the concept, curved AC vents and physical switchgear.
Multiple Powertrain Options
The Mahindra Vision S will be the brand’s first production-ready SUV to be based on the NU_IQ platform, which supports multiple powertrains including petrol, diesel, hybrid and electric. It could be offered with the 1.5-litre, four-cylinder diesel engine, borrowed from the Mahindra XUV 3XO.
Launch & Competition
Mahindra’s all-new sub-4 metre rugged SUV is likely to make debut before the end of this year, followed its market launch early next year. Once launched, it will be positioned against the upcoming Renault Bridger and Tata Scarlet along with the existing sub-4 metre SUVs in the segment.
