Maruti Suzuki has aggressive product offensive strategy for the Indian market. Over the next five years, the Indo-Japanese automaker plans to introduce nine UVs (utility vehicles) priced between Rs 5 lakh – Rs 30 lakh. The upcoming Maruti SUVs/MPVs will feature different powertrains including petrol, hybrid, electric, CNG and flex-fuel options. The company also aims to increase its annual production capacity from 2.35 million to 4 million units by 2031, while simultaneously expanding its export operations.

  • The Maruti e Vitara will be the next major product launch from the Indo-Japanese automaker, slated to arrive in December 2025. The electric SUV will be offered with the 49kWh and 61kWh battery pack options, with the higher-spec variant expected to deliver a range of over 500km.
  • Following the e Vitara, the Maruti Fronx Hybrid (codenamed YTB) will mark debut of the brand’s in-house developed strong hybrid powertrain. Maruti Suzuki is likely to hybridize its 1.2L Z-Series petrol engine, which is reported to deliver a mileage of over 35kmpl.
  • A new premium 7-seater Maruti Suzuki SUV (codenamed Y17) is also in the pipeline. It’s expected to be based on the Grand Vitara, and measure over 4.5 metres in length. The SUV is likely to share its powertrains, platform and features with the Grand Vitara.
  • According to media reports, Maruti Suzuki is additionally developing a new sub-4 metre SUV (codenamed Y 43) to challenge the Tata Punch and Hyundai Exter. The model might be based on the Brezza, and feature an upright stance and share powertrain with the Swift.
  • The upcoming lineup will also include a subcompact electric MPV (YMC) and a small electric hatchback (K-EV), both expected to arrive in the next couple of years. Furthermore, a three-row compact MPV (YDB), based on the Japan-spec Spacia, will be introduced in 2026.
  • Maruti Suzuki will also give a generation upgrade to its highly popular Brezza subcompact SUV in 2029. The all-new model will receive the brand’s new strong hybrid powertrain along with comprehensive design changes and new features.
