October 2025 turned out to be a highly profitable month for the Indian automobile industry, as carmakers such as Maruti Suzuki, Tata, Mahindra and Kia registered their all-time highest monthly sales figures. The new GST reforms and strong festive season demand drove overall sales to 4,66,814 units compared to 3,97,947 units in the same month last year.

Key Observations:
- In the SUV segment, the Tata Nexon (ICE + EV) continued to lead the charts with total sales of 22,083 units, up from 14,759 units in October 2024, registering a massive 50% YoY growth. It was also the top-selling car of the last month, followed by the Maruti Dzire, Ertiga and WagonR.
- With total sales of 18,381 units, the Hyundai Creta retained the second position, witnessing a 5 percent positive growth. These figures includes the ICE-powered Creta and Creta N line and Creta Electric variants.
- The Mahindra Scorpio secured the third spot among top-selling SUVs in October 2025, with 17,880 units dispatched to dealers nationwide. It registered a 14 percent YoY growth.
- Maruti Suzuki’s Fronx climbed to the fourth position with total sales of 17,003 units, surpassing the Tata Punch. The compact crossover recorded a YoY growth of 4 percent.
- The Tata Punch slipped to fifth position with total dispatch of 1 6,810 units, up from 15,740 units a year earlier, accounting a 7 percent YoY growth.
- The Mahindra Bolero ranked sixth among the top-selling SUVs in October 2025, recording a YoY growth of 46 percent.
- Meanwhile, the newly-launched Maruti Victoris made its debut on the list of the top 10 best-selling SUVs of the month. The midsize SUV posted total sales of 13,496 units, outperforming the Kia Sonet (seventh), Mahindra 3XO (eighth), Maruti Brezza (ninth) and Mahindra Thar (tenth).
