The highly competitive midsize SUV segment is set to witness intense action in the coming months, with five new models slated to arrive soon The upcoming range will include the ICE-powered new-gen Kia Seltos and Renault Duster, updated Skoda Kushaq and two electric SUVs – the Tata Sierra EV and the Maruti e Vitara. Here’s a quick overview of these upcoming models.

New-Gen Kia Seltos
Bookings for the all-new Kia Seltos have already been commenced nationwide, with deliveries slated to begin in mid-January. The SUV will go on sale with an official price announcement on 2nd January, 2026. Compared to the predecessor, the 2026 Kia Seltos is 95mm longer, 30mm wider and has an 80mm longer wheelbase. Its design is heavily inspired by the new Kia Telluride, especially at the front end. The new Seltos also comes with several segment-first features and tech, while retaining the existing engine options.
New Renault Duster
The third-generation Renault Duster will make its India debut on 26th January 2026. Built on the modular CMF-B platform, the SUV will feature an all-new design language and offer a more premium interior. In India, the 2026 Renault Duster is likely to be offered with 1.0L turbo petrol and 1.3L turbo petrol engine options.
Skoda Kushaq Facelift
The 2026 Skoda Kushaq will receive minimal cosmetic changes along with a few significant feature upgrades. Spy images reveal that the updated version will offer Level 2 ADAS (autonomous driver assistance system) and a panoramic sunroof. While the existing 1.0L and 1.5L TSI petrol engines will be retained, the existing 6-speed automatic gearbox with the 1.0L petrol engine will be replaced by a new 8-speed automatic transmission.
Tata Sierra EV
The Tata Sierra EV is expected to arrive in the first quarter of 2026. Its overall design, interior layout and features will be similar to the ICE counterpart, except a few EV-specific changes. While official specifications are yet to revealed, the Sierra EV is expected to borrow the 65kWh and 75kWh battery packs from the Harrier EV.
Maruti e Vitara
Slated to launch in early 2026, the Maruti e Vitara lineup will be available in three variants – Delta, Zeta and Alpha. Buyers will be able to choose between two battery packs – 49kWh and 61kWh. In global markets, the smaller battery version offers a claimed driving range of 344km, while the bigger battery pack promises 542km on WLTP cycle.
