January 2026 will witness four major SUV launches including the new-generation Kia Seltos, Mahindra XUV 7XO (updated XUV700), Maruti e Vitara and the third-generation Renault Duster. The all-new Seltos will go on sale with the official price announcement scheduled for 2nd January, while bookings are already underway. Deliveries are expected to begin by mid-January, 2026.
The Mahindra XUV 7XO will make its official debut on 5th January, followed shortly by its market launch. Meanwhile, the much-awaited new Renault Duster is all set to make its India debut on 26th January, while the launch date of the Maruti e Vitara is yet to be revealed. Here’s a brief of these four upcoming midsize SUVs.
New Kia Seltos
The 2026 Kia Seltos comes with significant design changes and feature enhancements, while retaining the existing engine options. The new model is longer, wider and more spacious than the current generation. Some of its key highlights include a panoramic display, a 10-way power driver’s seat with memory/lumbar, a panoramic sunroof, electronic parking brake, Level 2 ADAS and more.
Mahindra XUV 7XO
The Mahindra XUV 7XO (Mahindra XUV700 facelift) will receive XEV 9e-inspired design elements such as dual-pod LED projector headlamps, LED taillamps with pixel-style elements and new alloys. Official teasers confirm features like a 540-degree camera, new ADAS visualisation and in-car theatre mode supporting BYOD functionality. The SUV will continue to use the 2.0L turbo petrol and 2.2L diesel engines.
Maruti e Vitara
The Maruti e Vitara, the first electric offering from the Indo-Japanese automaker, will finally arrive at dealerships in January, 2026. Similar to its global-spec version, the India-spec model will come with 49kWh and 61kWh battery pack options, both paired with a front-axle mounted electric motor. The e Vitara will be one of the most-feature loaded Maruti Suzuki cars in India.
New Renault Duster
The next-generation Renault Duster is undoubtedly one of the biggest new car launches of the year. The SUV will be built on the CMF-B architecture, and feature an all-new design language. It will offer a more upmarket and feature-packed interior than its predecessor. In India, the 2026 Renault Duster is expected to be offered with 1.3L turbo and 1.2L mild hybrid petrol engine options.
