December 2025 Car Sales Break Records – Maruti, Hyundai, Tata & More

In December 2025, Maruti Suzuki India Limited sold a total of 217,854 units. Domestic sales reached an all-time high of 182,165 units. The sales to other OEM were at 9,950 units and exports were at 25,739 units.

With this, we closed CY 2025 with highest-ever total sales of 2,351,139 units, which also includes highest-ever exports of 395,648 units. Furthermore, Maruti Suzuki has exported 3.95 lakh vehicles in 2025, its highest ever in any calendar year. This marks a growth of over 21% as compared to CY 2024. This achievement is set to put the company at the top as India’s No. 1 passenger vehicle exporter* for the fifth consecutive year.

In 2025, Maruti Suzuki exported 18 models to over 100 countries. The year also marked the commencement of export of Suzuki’s first Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV), the e VITARA. Following the flag-off of the BEV by Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, at Maruti Suzuki’s Hansalpur facility in August’25, over 13,000 units have already been exported to 29 countries, predominantly in Europe.

Kia India has concluded Calendar Year (CY) 2025 on a strong note, registering total wholesale volumes of 280,286 units—marking a 15% annual growth over 245,000 units sold in CY 2024.

The year ended on a positive note, recording the best-ever December since inception with sales of 18,659 units, translating into a 105% Year-On-Year growth compared to 8,957 units in December 2024, driven by the strong customer focus coupled with the improved consumer sentiments.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) recorded the highest ever calendar year sales with total 3,88,801 units in 2025, reflecting a growth of 19% compared to the 3,26,329 units sold in CY 2024.

Out of the 3,88,801 units total sales in 2025, 3,51,580 units were sold in the domestic market with a growth of 17%, while 37,221 units were exported with a growth of 42%, reinforcing the company’s balanced growth strategy, expanding customer reach, and consistent performance across key segments.

In December 2025, TKM recorded total sales of 39,333 units compared to 29,529 units in December 2024, marking a Y-o-Y growth of 33%. The domestic sales for December 2025 stood at 34,157 units, while exports accounted for 5176 units making it a total of 39,333 units.

JSW MG Motor India recorded a 19% year-on-year growth in CY 2025 compared to CY 2024. The carmaker sold 70554 units during the Jan–Dec period of 2025. MG SELECT, the brand’s luxury retail channel, witnessed 38% month-on-month wholesale growth, driven by strong consumer response to the M9 Presidential Limousine and the Cyberster—the world’s fastest MG. The company registered 6500 wholesale units in December 2025, reflecting sustained demand across its ICE and EV portfolios.

As the year draws to a close, JSW MG Motor India also crossed the milestone of more than 100,000 total EVs sold to date, reaffirming its leadership in India’s electric mobility space. Meanwhile, the MG Windsor, India’s best-selling electric car, continued to retain its number-one position in the Indian passenger EV segment.

Škoda Auto marked 2025 as its most defining year in its India journey so far. It marked its 25th anniversary in the country with its strongest-ever sales performance. The brand closed 2025 with sales of 72,665 cars, registering a 107% year-on-year growth compared to 35,166 units sold in 2024.
