The 2026 Kia Carens Clavis lineup has received a new HTE (EX) trim, which is available exclusively in a 7-seats configuration. Positioned above the HTE (O) variant, this new trim comes with three engine options – 1.5L petrol naturally aspirated petrol, 1.5L turbo petrol and 1.5L diesel.

Prices (ex-showroom) for the HTE (EX) trim are set at Rs 12,54,900 for the 1.5L NA petrol, Rs 13,41,900 for the 1.5L turbo petrol and Rs 14,52,900 for the 1.5L diesel. One of the major highlights of this update is the introduction of an electric sunroof with the 1.5L NA petrol engine, marking a first for this powertrain in the lineup.

This move underlines our strong customer-centric approach and our commitment to strengthening Kia’s presence in the highly competitive Indian automotive market.”

Kia’s Future Plan For India

The South Korean automaker is gearing up to enter the hybrid SUV segment in India in the second half of this year. Reports suggest that the Kia Sorento three-row premium SUV could be introduced with a strong hybrid powertrain. While the Sorento is offered globally with multiple powertrain options, the India-spec version is likely to use a 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol-hybrid powertrain.

Following the Sorento, the Kia Seltos hybrid will hit Indian roads sometime in 2027. The midsize SUV is expected to share its powertrain with the Sorento and will be positioned against the upcoming hybrid versions of the new Renault Duster and Hyundai Creta.
