HPCL Q3 Results: Cons PAT soars 58% YoY to Rs 4,011 crore, revenue up 5%


Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) on Wednesday reported a 58% jump in its December quarter consolidated net profit at Rs 4,011 crore compared to Rs 2,544 crore reported in the year-ago period. The state-run oil marketing company reported 5% growth in its Q3FY26 revenue at Rs 1.24 lakh crore compared to Rs 1.18 lakh crore over the corresponding period of the last financial year.

Profit after tax (PAT) grew 4% sequentially versus Rs 3,859 crore in Q2FY26 while the topline reported a 13% quarter-on-quarter growth versus 1.09 lakh crore in the July-September quarter of FY26.

Gross Refining Margin (GRM)

The GRM in Q3FY26 stood at $ 8.85 per barrel versus $ 6.01 per barrel in Q3FY25 while for the 9MFY26, it stood at $6.91 per barrel, up from $4.73 per barrel in 9MFY25.

The refineries recorded their highest-ever crude throughput of 19.61 MMT during 9MFY26, up 5.8% from 18.53 MMT in 9M FY25. The Visakh Refinery registered highest-ever crude throughput of 12.15 MMT operating at 108% of its enhanced name plate capacity of 15 MMTPA, a company filing to the exchanges said.

Meanwhile, the Mumbai refinery registered a throughput of 7.46 MMT operating at 104% of its name plate capacity of 9.50 MMTPA.


The refineries recorded crude throughput of 6.38 MMT in Q3FY26, with Visakh Refinery registering crude throughput of 4.01 MMT operating at 106% of its name plate capacity. The Mumbai refinery registered throughput of 2.37 MMT operating at 99% of its name plate capacity.

Two new grades of crude oil were processed during Q3 FY26, taking the total number of new grades processed during 9M FY26 to seven.Also read: Eternal Q3 Results: 10 key takeaways from earnings, competition to business outlook

Q3 sales volume

Q3FY26 sales including exports stood at 13.34 MMT, up 3.7% YoY. In this, the domestic sales growth was at 3.1%. The combined sale of petrol (MS) and diesel (HSD) stood at 8.07 MMT, up 2.6% YoY.

The total LPG sales comprising domestic and non-domestic sales grew 9% YoY to 2.52 MMT while the pipeline throughput was recorded at 6.24 MMT.

Network

The retail outlets commissioned in Q3FY26 stood at 321, taking the total to 24,572 while new LPG distributors in Q3FY26 wad 5, taking the total to 6,389.
