Hyundai Motor India has been losing ground in the Indian market to Tata Motors and Mahindra & Mahindra. Amid intensifying competition, the South Korean has announced an aggressive product offensive launch plan including 20 ICE (internal combustion engine) vehicles and 6 EVs (electric vehicles), arriving by 2030. The existing Hyundai product lineup will also be refreshed with midlife updates and generational changes.
The Hyundai Creta midsize SUV and Hyundai i20 hatchback are among the brand’s two popular models set to receive a generational upgrade in 2026 and 2027, respectively. Both models are currently in their initial testing phase, and have been spotted heavily camouflage overseas.
New-Gen Hyundai Creta

Spy images suggest that the new-generation Hyundai Creta will be slightly larger than the current model. Based on the new K3 platform, the SUV will carry a more upright and angular stance. Most of its changes will be similar those seen on the next-gen Kia Seltos.
On the engine front, the 2026 Hyundai Creta will continue to use the existing 115bhp, 1.5L NA petrol, 116bhp, 1.5L diesel and 160bhp, 1.5L turbo petrol engine. However, the biggest upgrade will come in the form of a hybrid powertrain. While official details are yet to revealed, the carmaker is likely to hybridize its 1.5L NA petrol engine.
New-Gen Hyundai i20

The all-new Hyundai i20 is expected to receive radical cosmetic changes and feature upgrades over the current generation. While details are not available at the moment, the hatchback is likely to feature Hyundai’s new Modern Design language, and derive styling elements from its elder siblings. Inside, it might get newly-designed dashboard, new trims and upholstery along with a 360-degree camera and Level 1 ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) suite.
For power, the new Hyundai i20 could use the existing 1.2L naturally aspirated petrol engine, with a 5-speed manual and a CVT automatic gearbox.
