The new TVS Orbiter V1 electric scooter is now on sale in India. Priced at Rs 84,500 (ex-showroom, Delhi, inclusive of the e-Drive subsidy), it becomes the most affordable electric offering in the lineup of TVS Motor Company The scooter is also available with the BaaS (Battery-as-a-Service) scheme, under which customers can purchase it for as low as Rs 49,000, while paying a monthly subscription for the battery. Compared to the Orbiter V2, the Orbiter V2 is nearly Rs 15,000 more affordable.
BaaS Scheme Explained

BaaS (Battery-as-a-Service) option allows buyers to pay a monthly battery subscription, starting at Rs 862 per month. Customers can choose payment plans across 24, 36 and 60 months. One of the key highlights is that TVS does not impose any distance limit, no matter with what plan you go. Furthermore, if the TVS Orbiter V1 is purchased via the BaaS scheme, buyers will avail a 5 year/ 70,000 km extended warranty package.
Battery, Range & Charging Time
Talking about the powertrain, the TVS Orbiter V1 uses a 1.8kWh battery pack, delivering a claimed IDC range of 86km. The battery pack can be charged from 0 to 80 percent in 2 hours and 20 minutes. It offers two riding modes – Eco and Power.
Key Features
The overall design and styling of the Orbiter V1 are exactly similar to the TVS Orbiter V2. The electric scooter offers features such as turn-by-turn navigation, a mobile app, OTA (over-the-air) updates and a LCD cluster.
On the safety front, the e-scooter offers parking assist, hill hold assist, and cruise control along with multiple safety alerts. The V1 runs on 14-inch front and 12-inch rear wheels. Similar to the V2, the TVS Orbiter V1 has an 845mm long flat seat, and offers 34-litres of underseat storage. It’s available in two colour options – Stellar Silver and Martian Copper.
