Following yesterday’s teaser, the Tecno Spark 50 5G now has a landing page on Amazon India and an official unveiling date, March 27. That means that we will have to wait until Friday to get the full scoop on it, but Amazon did reveal some key features for the new Spark.
As we noted yesterday, connectivity will be a focal point for the phone – 5G is relatively rare in the Spark family and this handset promises 82% faster downloads thanks to 4×4 MIMO antennas.

Additionally, it will speed up mobile payments with UPS 3.0, a technology that boosts the signal in areas with weak reception. And there is one more trick – off-grid communication up to 1.5km.
The Tecno Spark 50 5G will be available in Mint Green (which starred in the teaser), Fantasy Purple, Ink Black and Champagne Gold. The camera layout has been reworked into a horizontal visor – the camera island is made of 6-series aluminum.

It’s not clear whether the rest of the frame is aluminum, though. We’ll find that out on Friday. Either way, this phone has passed MIL-STD-810H testing and has also been drop-tested from 1.5m.
Finally, the landing page clears up the battery situation – the phone will have a 6,500mAh battery and will support 45W fast charging. That’s a lot better than the previous 5G model, the Spark Go (aka Spark 40 5G), which had a 6,000mAh battery and only 18W charging.

Again, this comes from Amazon India. However, certifications listed the Tecno Spark 50 5G with both 6,500mAh and 6,150mAh batteries – the smaller capacity might be for Spark 50 5G units headed to other regions.
