Here’re the first spy pictures of the new 2026 Honda City facelift, spotted testing in Brazil. The spied test mule is heavily camouflaged, concealing most of its design details. However, the rear section is visible, featuring LED taillamps and a tailgate similar to the existing model. The new City is expected to derive design inspiration from the global-spec new Civic sedan.

Minimal upgrades are expected inside the cabin. The new Honda City facelift is expected to receive new upholstery and trims along with features such as an updated infotainment system, a 360-degree camera and more.

New 2026 Honda City Facelift spied

Same Petrol & Hybrid Engines

In India, the new 2026 Honda City facelift is likely to retain the existing 1.5L i-VTEC naturally aspirated petrol engine. This motor pushes out a maximum power of 121PS and 145Nm of torque. It comes with two gearbox options – a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed CVT. The City offers a fuel efficiency of 17-18kmpm with manual and 18-19kmpl with automatic transmission.

The City eHEV will continue to feature the 1.5L Atkinson cycle petrol hybrid powertrain. This setup consists of a naturally aspirated petrol engine, dual electric motors and a lithium-ion battery pack. It returns a claimed combined power output of 126PS and 253Nm of torque. Transmission duties will continue to be performed by an e-CVT gearbox. The sedan offers multiple drive modes – EV, Hybrid and Engine (for high-speed cruising). The City hybrid offers an impressive fuel efficiency of 27kmpl.

Expected Launch Timeline

The new Honda City facelift is expected to hit Indian roads sometime this year. However, there is no official word yet on its exact launch timeline.

Next-Gen Honda City (2028)

Honda Cars India will introduce the next-generation Honda City in 2028. The sedan will feature the brand’s futuristic design language, inspired by the Honda 0 Series sedan. It will also switch to an all-new PF2 modular platform, which will suport hybrid and electric powertrains and comply with future CAFÉ 3 emission norms. The all-new City is expected come with advanced tech, an upgraded ADAS suite and several new features.
