The new Kia Seltos has received a full 5-star rating for Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) and for Child Occupant Protection (COP) in Bharat NCAP crash tests. The midsize SUV scored 31.70 points out of 32 in adult protection and 45 out of 49 in child protection. It’s important to note that the BNCAP safety rating applies to all variants of the SUV.
With such impressive scores, the Seltos beats Tata Sierra, which secured 31.14 points out of 32 for adult protection and 44.73 points of 49 for child protection. In fact, it now stands as one of the safest cars across segments.
The new Seltos offers the Safety Assist Technologies (SAT) including ESC (electronic stability control), six airbags, tyre pressure monitoring system, ABS, hill start assist, pedestrian protection system & seat belt reminders (SBR) as a standard fitment across all the variants.

New Kia Seltos Adult Occupant Protection
In midsize SUV scored 15.70 points out of 16 in the frontal offset deformable barrier test, and a full 16 out of 16 points in side movable deformable barrier test. In the frontal test, protection for the head, neck, chest, pelvis, thighs and right tibia was rated as ‘Good’ for both driver and the front passenger. However, protection for the driver’s feet and the left tibia was rated as ‘Adequate’.
In the side movable deformable barrier test and side pole impact tests, the Seltos provided ‘Good’ protection to all critical body regions, including the head, chest, abdomen and pelvis.

New Kia Seltos Child Occupant Protection
In the frontal and side crash tests, the forward-facing seat for the three-year-old received ‘Good’ protection, scoring 8 out 8 points, and 4 out of 4 points, respectively. Furthermore, the rearward-facing seat for 18-month also offered ‘Good’ protection. The Seltos’ achieved a full score in both dynamic and CRS assessments, with 24 out of 24 and 12 out of 12 points, respectively.
