Tata Sierra EV Launch in May 2026? Expected Range, Price & Full Details

With a strong focus on the EV (electric vehicle) market, Tata Motors has lined up several new models slated to arrive by 2030. In the near term, the homegrown automaker is gearing up to introduce three new EVs in 2026 – the Sierra EV, Tiago EV facelift and Avinya (debut) luxury EV. Earlier, the Tata Sierra EV was confirmed to launch in the first quarter of FY2027. According to a fresh media report, the midsize electric SUV will go on sale in May, 2026.

Competition & Expected Price

Tata’s Sanand manufacturing facility in Gujarat will serve as production centre for the Sierra EV. Once launched, it will compete against the Hyundai Creta Electric, Maruti e Vitara, Mahindra BE 6 and the upcoming Toyota eBella. Prices of the Tata Sierra EV are expected to start from Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base variant.

Expected Battery Options & Range

Speculations suggest the Tata Sierra EV might borrow a 55kWh battery from the Curvv EV and a 65kWh battery pack from the Harrier EV. In the Curvv EV, the 55kWh battery pack, paired with a front-axle mounted electric motor, offers a claimed MIDC range of 502km per charge. This setup delivers a maximum power of 167PS and 215Nm of torque.

Meanwhile, the Harrier EV’s 65kWh battery comes paired with a rear-wheel drive electric motor, promising a MIDC range of 538km. It produces a maximum power of 238PS and 315Nm of torque. While the official powertrain details of the Sierra EV will be revealed closer to its launch, it’s likely to offer a driving range of over 500km.

Tata Motors has already released a teaser of the Sierra EV, showing a closed-off grille, raised bonnet and a flat front bumper. The EV will also feature newly-designed aero-optimized alloy wheels, connected LED light bar at the rear, short overhangs and wraparound glass at the rear.
