Samsung’s blood pressure measurement is now available in the US for the Galaxy Watch4 and later models running Wear OS 4 and higher. The blood pressure monitoring and tracking is handled by the Samsung Health Monitor app.

The only caveat is that, in order to ensure accuracy, you need to use an upper arm cuff every 28 days to calibrate the watch’s readings. The Galaxy Watches measure systolic and diastolic blood pressure alongside your heart rate using the heart rate monitoring sensors.

“Later this year”, Samsung will introduce passive monitoring too, which will show blood pressure trends over time. Blood pressure monitoring is the latest in a growing list of health and wellness tools available for Galaxy Watches, including Samsung’s Sleep Apnea feature, the first of its kind to be authorized by the FDA.
