Top 6 Electric SUVs & MPVs Launching Soon – Tata to Kia

EV (electric vehicle) market in India is gradually growing, driven by government policies, improving infrastructure and new product launches. Most EVs currently on sale are positioned at the premium end, with only a few options for the mass-market. However, this scenario is set to change soon, as multiple new EVs are in the launch pipeline.

If you’re planning to buy an EV, here’s a list of the top 6 upcoming models across different price brackets, serving to a wide range of customer requirements.

Toyota eBella

Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella

The Toyota eBella, essentially a rebadged Maruti eVitara, will come with two battery pack options – 49kWh and 61kWh. Both batteries will be paired to a front axle motor. Similar to the eVitara, the new Toyota electric SUV will offer a driving range of up to 543km on a single charge. Expect familiar Toyota’s design elements, while the eBella’s overall styling, cabin layout and features will be similar to the eVitara.

Kia Syros EV

Kia Syros EV

Kia has confirmed the Syros EV for India; however, its exact launch date is yet to be announced. The EV is expected to share its platform and powertrain with the Hyundai Inster EV, which is currently on sale in select global markets. The Inster is offered with 42kWh and 49kWh battery pack options, delivering a maximum range of 369km per charge.

Tata Sierra EV

Tata Sierra EV Launch Date

Tata Sierra EV will arrive by the second quarter of 2026 (April – June). Tata Motors has confirmed that the electric SUV will be available with both RWD and AWD from launch. Speculations suggest that the Tata Sierra EV might borrow powertrain from one of these models – Punch EV, Curvv EV and Harrier EV.

Vinfast VF3

VinFast VF3 India

Measuring 3,190mm in length, the Vinfast VF3 is expected to launch in the second half of 2026. The powertrain details for the India-spec version are yet to be revealed; however, it offers a claimed range of around 201km on a single charge. Dimensionally, it will be longer and wider than the MG Coment.

Tata Safari EV

New Tata Safari

Based on the Acti.e+ platform, the Tata Safari EV is slated to hit roads during 2026 festive season. The EV is likely to be offered with the 65kWh and 75kWh battery pack options, borrowed from the Harrier EV. Minimal EV-specific design changes and software updates are expected.

Maruti YMC MPV

Maruti electric MPV

Maruti Suzuki is planning a sub-4 metre electric MPV, which is expected to arrive in late 2026. However, there is no official confirmation yet. It’s likely to share powertrain with the eVitara, which is available with 49kWh and 61kWh battery pack options.
