AT&T has just announced the launch of a new service called eSIM by AT&T. It’s aimed at people visiting the US, Canada, and/or Mexico, and the choice of countries makes sense when you consider the fact that the FIFA World Cup is taking place from June 11 to July 19 in exactly those three countries. AT&T is aiming this at people who will be arriving in North America for the World Cup matches.

As you can see below, eSIM by AT&T comes in four ‘sizes’. A one-day pass is $3.99 and only available for the US. A seven-day pass is $15.99 for just the US, or $24.99 for all three countries. A 15-day pass costs $25.99 in the US or $39.99 for all three countries. Finally, a 30-day pass can be yours for $40.99 for the US only or $59.99 for all three countries. All of these prices are inclusive of tax and fees.

What you get is unlimited data on your phone with 5GB of hotspot access. Passes that include unlimited talk and text are coming soon. To get an eSIM by AT&T, the prerequisite of course is that you have an unlocked smartphone that supports eSIM. You need to download the Connect on Demand by AT&T app from either the iOS App Store or the Google Play Store for Android. Once you land in the US, you can use the app to purchase an eSIM by AT&T and activate the service.
