Volkswagen’s 1st Full-Hybrid Compact SUV Is Coming SOON


The second-generation Volkswagen T-Roc is finally here. The globally popular SUV has made its official debut via images in an all-new avatar, ahead of its global launch scheduled for late 2025 or early 2026. Bookings for the 2026 Volkswagen T-Roc are already underway in European markets. It’s important to note that the German automaker currently has no plan to bring in the T-Roc in India.

Full Hybrid & Mild Hybrid Powertrains:

Starting with its major highlight, the full hybrid powertrain. The new T-Roc will be the first Volkswagen model to feature this setup, though its specifications are yet to be revealed. The hybrid setup is likely to include a petrol engine and a small capacity electric motor.

In global markets, the new Volkswagen T-Roc will also be offered with a 1.5L, 4-cylinder petrol mild hybrid and 2.0L mild hybrid powertrain options. The 1.5L eTSI engine is tuned for generating power worth 116PS and 150PS. The SUV model lineup will also receive a 2.0L mild hybrid powertrain with 4WD system. A performance-oriented T-Roc R variant will be introduced at a later stage.

2026 Volkswagen T-Roc Features

Bigger & More Tech-Loaded:

Another key highlight of the 2026 Volkswagen T-Roc is its increased length. Measuring 4,373mm in length, the SUV is now 120mm longer than the outgoing model. The interior has also witness significant improvement in terms of quality and features. The next-gen T-Roc features a new 13-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a fabric-wrapped dashboard, ambient lighting, a 10-inch digital instrument cluster, a Head-Up display and more.

Improved Looks:

With the generational upgrade, the T-Roc’s design has become sharper and modern. The LED headlamps are standard, while IQ.LIGHT matrix lights are available as an option. Other design highlights include a light strip connecting the headlamps to an illuminated VW logo, larger 20-inch wheels, and full-width LED bar with a glowing emblem.
