Back in February we first heard that vivo was working on its very own vlogging camera to rival DJI’s Osmo Pocket line, and now a new rumor from China claims Oppo is doing the same too.
According to Digital Chat Station on Weibo, both the Oppo and the vivo devices will feature a 200MP camera using a 1/1.12″ type sensor. That size is very specific and points towards Sony’s Lytia 901, unveiled last November.

Oppo may co-brand its vlogging camera with Hasselblad, and vivo with Zeiss. Both of these will have “flagship-level” chips that aren’t mentioned, and they will both support interconnection with each brand’s smartphones. This means your Oppo or vivo smartphone will seamlessly save what you capture on the vlogging camera, and you will then of course be able to easily edit and share from your phone.
Obviously, Oppo and vivo have both seen the incredible success that the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 has had these past few years, and they now want a piece of the pie. But they’re not alone. DJI is sort of competing with itself by launching the Osmo Pocket 4 but also the upcoming Osmo Pocket 4P, and then there’s Insta360 with its Luna, that’s coming soon too. While DJI’s Osmo Pocket 3 was all alone in this space for a very long time, it’s now getting quite crowded.
