As a part of this strategy, the company will introduce several new ICE, hybrid, electric and flex-fuel models. In 2026, Toyota will introduce two hybrid SUVs – the Urban Cruiser Hyryder and the 7-seater Hyryder.

New Toyota Hyryder Facelift

The new 2026 Toyota Hyryder facelift is expected to come with slightly improved styling and a bunch of new features, while retaining the existing powertrains. The SUV lineup is currently available with a 1.5L, 4-cylinder naturally aspirated mild hybrid petrol and 1.5L, 3-cylinder petrol Atkinson cycle strong hybrid powertrain options. While the former delivers a maximum power of 103PS and 137Nm of torque, the latter is good for 115PS and 141Nm.

The mild hybrid petrol engine can be had with either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox. An e-CVT (electronic continuously variable transmission) is exclusively available with the strong hybrid powertrain. A FWD (front-wheel drive) system comes as standard, while an AWD configuration is offered only in select manual variants.

New Toyota 7-Seater SUV

The upcoming 7-seater Toyota Hyryder is expected to share the same mild hybrid petrol and strong hybrid powertrains as the standard 5-seater model. However, it’s likely to feature a longer wheelbase and extended rear overhang to accommodate the third row of seat. In terms of design, the new Toyota 7-seater SUV will retain the upright SUV stance, muscular body cladding, split LED headlamps and connected LED taillamps.

The three-row SUV is likely to offer both a 6-seater configuration with captain seats in the middle row and a 7-seat layout with a bench-style second row. A sliding second row is expected to ease access to the third-row. Features such as a 10.25-inch infotainment system, a fully digital instrument cluster, a panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, premium audio system and Toyota Safety Sense (ADAS) are expected to be on offer.
