We have Oppo’s latest Enco Air5 and Air5s in the office for unboxing. Let’s kick it off with the Air5. This is an in-ear bud with active noise cancellation that seemingly sits just under the Air5 Pro, though both buds share the same 12mm dynamic driver and triple microphones.
The Air5 ships in either Glossy White or Midnight Black, and with three sets of silicone eartips.

Looking at the specs sheets of the new Enco Air5 and the outgoing Enco Air5 Pro, there’s hardly any difference. The only thing that we can find is LHDC 5.0 support on the Pro model. As well as sliding your finger on the step for volume control, the Air5 only supports taps for play/pause and ANC control. Even the open-ear Air5s has slide control.
The Air5 lays claim to the same 12mm dynamic driver, up to 54 hours of battery life from the 530mAh case (and an additional 62mAh per bud), and 53dB of noise cancellation.

The Enco Air5 fits comfortably in the ear. Not everyone is a fan of in-ear buds, but this editor is used to them. Sadly, as I mentioned, there’s no support for sliding gestures on the Air5, which is a shame, given that both the Enco Air5 Pro and Enco Air5s have this feature.
It’s a convenient way to adjust volume and something you can’t let go of once you’ve had it.
Sound quality is impressive on the Air5. There’s plenty of volume, and strong treble and mids. Out of the box, there’s not much in the way of oomph, though. Active noise cancellation is solid.
