2 New Mahindra SUVs Coming in 2027 – Rugged Styling, AWD & Multi-Powertrain

Mahindra & Mahindra’s all-new NU_IQ modular platform made its debut with the four Vision SUV concepts – Vision S, Vision X, Vision T and Vision SXT. Among them, the Mahindra Vision S concept previews a rugged sub-4 metre SUV that’s likely to join the Scorpio N family.

The production-ready Vision S is expected to debut in late 2026, followed by its market launch in early 2027. The carmaker has also recently filed a design patent of the Mahindra Vision SXT pickup truck, which might enter production sometime in 2027.

Multi-Powertrain & AWD

Mahindra’s new NU_IQ monocoque platform supports multiple powertrain options including ICE (internal combustion engine), electric and hybrid, along with AWD (all-wheel drive) capabilities. It’s also compatible with several advanced technologies such as a variable-ratio steering rack, a 5-link rear suspension with active dampers and a new NU_UX user interface. As a result, the upcoming Vision SUVs could be offered with multiple powertrain chocies and advanced features.

Mahindra Vision S

The production-ready Mahindra Vision S is likely to remain true to the concept. It will feature a boxy and upright stance, circular LED headlamps, a high roofline and flush door handles. However, the final version could be slightly toned down by scrapping the roof-mounted lights, limb risers on the bonnet, stepladder on the kerb side and the jerry can on the right side.

Spy shots reveal that the lower and mid-spec variants of the Vision S will offer an analogue instrument cluster with a small MID, manually adjustable AC dials, a newly-designed steering wheel and split-folding type rear seats.

Mahindra Vision SXT

The leaked patent image of the Mahindra Vision SXT shows a familiar boxy silhouette featuring an aggressive front grille, a front skid plate, a split headlamp setup with Y-shaped DRLs and a tubular bar.

Interior details are not available at the moment. However, the production-ready Vision SXT is likely to feature a minimalistic design with a large portrait-oriented touchscreen infotainment system, a free-standing digital instrument cluster, a panoramic sunroof and several connected car and advanced features.
