The Nothing Phone (1) has officially reached the end of its software support lifecycle and will no longer receive software updates, the company confirmed in an official announcement. The smartphone debuted in July 2022 running Android 12.
Nothing has started rolling out the final software update for the Phone (1), with the release expected to reach all users over the coming days.

The update includes the July 2026 Android security patch, along with general bug fixes, performance improvements, and enhanced system stability.
While the Phone (1) will no longer receive software updates, Nothing assures the device is fully usable and will continue to function as normal.

The Phone (1) was promised 3 Android OS upgrades and 4 years of security updates, a commitment that Nothing has now fulfilled.
If you’re still using the Nothing Phone (1) it might be time to upgrade to a newer model such as the Phone (3) or the Phone (4a) Pro.
