A new affordable smartphone brand is coming to India

According to a new rumor, a new smartphone brand will be launched in India in the near future. This won’t be a new company, but instead it’s actually Fire-Boltt expanding into the smartphone market.

Fire-Boltt held 9.7% of the Indian smartwatch market in 2025, and now it wants to take on the big players in the smartphone field with a ‘cheap and reliable’ formula. The devices will be sold under the Boltt brand (the Fire will remain exclusive to wearables).

There won’t be just one smartphone, but two or three to begin with. All of them will be powered by Unisoc chips, and all of them will allegedly be priced under INR 20,000 ($211). The earliest we’re likely to see any of these unveiled is next month, apparently.

It’s unclear what we should expect from these devices, but Fire-Boltt already has the logistics and distribution channels in place from its wearable business, so it should be able to launch the new brand without too much trouble. We’ll let you know when we hear more.
