Hyundai has officially announced that it will launch the Bayon midsize SUV during the festive season, around October 2027. The SUV is scheduled to make global debut on October 12 at the 2026 Paris Motor Show. The SUV’s official bookings are already opened, and customers can pre-book it online or at authorised dealerships by paying a token amount of Rs 11,000.

Hyundai has also confirmed that the Bayon midsize SUV will measure 4.2-meters in length, making it the smallest in the segment. Its direct rival, the Maruti Victoris measures 4.3 meters in length. In fact, the SUV will also be smaller than the Skoda Kushaq and Volkswagen Taigun.
Another highlight is that the all-new Bayon could be the cheapest model in its category. It will sit between the sub-4m Venue and the next-gen Creta, which will grow in size and expected to measure close to 4.5 meters in length. Hyundai believes that the Bayon will cater to a new set of urban audience looking for a distinct crossover-SUV stance, a spacious cabin and the convenience of both petrol and CNG powertrain options.
Hyundai Bayon: Petrol and CNG
The Hyundai Bayon will be powered by a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder, naturally-aspirated petrol engine that also powers the Creta, Kia Seltos and Hyundai Verna. This engine is capable of producing 114bhp and 144Nm of torque and will be offered with either a 6-speed manual and a CVT automatic unit.
The all-new Bayon will also come with a factory-fitted CNG kit, which is most likely to feature an underbody CNG fitment. It will be the first Hyundai model over 4 meters in length to get a factory-fitted CNG option.

Hyundai will aim to price the new Bayon competitively in the market. We expect the new model to cost somewhere between Rs 9 lakh and Rs 14 lakh, potentially undercutting all its rival. In fact, the SUV could impact the sales of higher-spec variants of the sub-4m SUVs such as Maruti Brezza, Kia Syros, Mahindra XUV 3XO and others.
