Apple launched its latest entry-level iPad in March 2025, and its successor has been expected to arrive about two years after that in spring 2027. Ahead of that, a new report brings us the upcoming tablet’s main specs, courtesy of “details found in Apple’s code”.
So, the next entry-level iPad will be powered by the A19 chip, paired with 8GB of RAM. That’s a solid upgrade over the existing model’s A16 chip and 6GB of RAM. Not just that, but Apple Intelligence support is a given on the new device, along with the new Siri AI.

The new tablet will also get Apple’s C1X modem, with support for sub-6GHz 5G networks, and its N1 networking chip with support for Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread.
The current entry-level iPad is now priced at $449 following June’s price hike, and with these upgrades, we wouldn’t be very surprised to see the new model going to at least $499. But only time will tell, of course.
